Education Boots ACT Exports

Territory exports increased by 5.7 per cent or $1 billion.

Education related travel rose 18.7 per cent.

Chris Peters from the ACT Chamber of Commerce says the figures demonstrate the resilience of Canberra's education market.

"That's a remarkable increase in export earnings for the ACT," he said.

"A 5.7 per cent increase in the middle of a global financial crisis shows the strength of the ACT economy, particularly in the services industry."

Australian exports rose 23 per cent, up $284 billion.
